10/10 — amazing coffee and breakfast/brunch. We stayed at the hotel opposite and walked over for breakfast 2 days in a row. The food is of really high quality (try the smashed avocado and thank me later). Customer service is pleasant and outdoor seating is a bliss on a good weather day.

I didn’t originally plan to visit this place, but after our first choice café was closed, we came here last minute—and it turned out to be a great decision. I ordered two soups: the pumpkin and the salmon chowder. Both were piping hot and absolutely perfect for a chilly winter morning. They came with fresh bread, which was so good I ended up ordering more—it was ideal for dipping and soaking up the soup. I also had two cappuccinos, and they were smooth and enjoyable. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the toilet was clean—a small but much-appreciated bonus. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in Twizel!

Lovely spot for a quality coffee (good flat white and cappuccino). We had a big breakfast and eggs Ben w bacon. Both very tasty, good free range eggs. Nice presentation, generous portions. Also had the Poppies Dessert, which was beautiful on the plate as well as a delicious combination of chocolate, plum, ice-cream and mousse. Highly recommended

This place was DELICIOUS - I’m unclear why it doesn’t have 5 stars. We had the lamb wrapped in pastry (to die for) and beef. You must go here - lovely staff, super kind! Delicious food, in a lovely town.

Stopped in at Poppies Cafe on the way to Aoraki to grab some lunch and stretch the legs. Sat at a little outdoor table enjoying the beautful weather and the waiter brought me the venison, walnut & pomegranate salad - one of the best salads I have eaten in my entire life! I am not actually a big pomegranate fan and rarely go for nuts in my salads, but this combination was just perfection. If you are ever in Twizel, do yourself a favour and stop at Poppies.

We decided to try Poppies cafe as we were recommended to eat here during our stay in Twizel. We had pancakes and bacon Egg Benedict. Both meals were delicious, fresh and of high quality. The iced mocha and flat white were tasty as-well. Service was friendly and attentive to all customers. We will be back to Poppies when in Twizel again!

A great stop to feed everyone before a long drive home. Great food, great service. Hot coffee, quick food service. Busy morning in there and it was a great atmosphere
